Loretto chapels
On the road to Birgsau are the picturesque Loretto chapels, which, according to Dumant's art guide, represent "the most beautiful art destination" in Oberstdorf.
The pilgrimage churches refer to the Italian pilgrimage site of St. Loreto near Ancona. There was the same apparition of Mary as here. They are also the end point of the stations of the cross in Oberstdorf.

St. Anna Chapel in Rohrmoos
The oldest wooden chapel in southern Germany from the 16th century is in Rohrmoos.
The late Renaissance chapel of St. Anna with folk frescoes and a winged altar was built by head sessian Jakob von Waldburg-Wolfegg in 1586. With its completely preserved painting, the chapel is probably unique in Bavaria.
